Green silicon carbide is produced during identical process as black silicon carbide. Green silicon carbide is much harder, and chemically „purer” and more friable than black silicon carbide. Green silicon carbide shows better abilitiy to self-sharpening.
Green silicon carbide is used in abrasive blasting of hard surface materials to which belong sintered carbides, cermetals, ceramics, glass, granite, gem stones, marble and cast iron and steel corrosion resistant with austenitic structure. Green silicon carbide is used also in production of precise abrasive materials.
